Montreal Peppered Flank Steak

Make your favorite steak seasoning at home, which can be used as a dry rub and is perfect for grilling beef, chicken and pork, or for seasoning potatoes and vegetables. I have then taken the seasoning mixture and made it into a marinade that my family loves with flank steak.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons black pepper

  • 2 tablespoons paprika (not smoked)

  • 2 tablespoons Celtic sea salt

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder

  • 1 tablespoon onion powder

  • 1 tablespoon coriander

  • 1 tablespoon ground dried dill

  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes (use less or omit if preferred)

  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

  • 1/4 cup coconut aminos

  • 2 pounds flank steak or other steak of choice

Directions:

  1. Combine all dry ingredients from black pepper to red pepper flakes in a small bowl. Mix together. Store leftover dry ingredients in an airtight container.

  2. Then take 1/2 cup olive oil, 1/4 cup coconut aminos and 4 teaspoons seasoning and mix in a glass dish.

  3. Add 2 pounds flank steak to marinade and turn to coat.

  4. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or more.

  5. Remove steak from marinade (discard marinade).

  6. Grill over medium-high heat 6-8 minutes per side or until desired doneness.
